Your Flight Has Been Delayed

You can’t have a mid-life crisis in the airline industry because every day is a crisis.

Herb Kelleher

I don’t fly often, perhaps once a year or so. Although we often associate flying with stress and delays, I am always amazed at how many things generally go right, all things considered. So how often do things go wrong for airlines, anyway?

In this analysis, I use airline data from the 2000s to examine delays, cancellations, and diversions by airport and carrier.

Building a Sommelier

What I like to drink most is wine that belongs to others.

Diogenes

The oldest wine known to us comes from people who lived in what is now modern day Armenia over 6,000 years ago. Since then, there have been a few opinions about it. But what really makes a good wine?

In this analysis, I take a look at the chemical factors of red wine to see what excellent wines have in common. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass, and let’s see what we find.
