Good Boy, 11/10

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.

According to internet live stats, the average number of tweets per day in 2013 was around 500 million. Here in 2018 Denver, it’s not even 9:00 AM and there are around 250 million new tweets today. Twitter is a gold mine for interesting data.

Which isn’t to say that Twitter data is easy to access. Twitter promotes a short-hand format to fit messages within it’s 280 character limit, and most users tweet from their phones. Twitter’s data is messy.

Fortunately, with a little hard work, it can be cleaned. In this project, I took a database of tweets from the beloved WeRateDogs™ account and cleaned them up. I even ran an analysis afterward to make sure the cleaned data worked!

You can find my analysis here.
